ACADEMIC CALENDAR 2008-2009

   The dates for academic activities established in the academic calendar constitute a period of minimum teaching, but schools may begin their academic activitities before or finish them after the indicated dates.

Beginning of the academic year: From September 16 (Schools can delay the beginning of academic year till September 22 for the first year students).

First semester:

· Academic period: From September 16 to December 23.

Second semester:

· Academic period: From January 26 to May 15.

Exams:

· December exams (third opportunity): From November 24 to December 5.
· First semester final exams (1st semester courses): From January 8 to January 23.
· First semester final exams (second opportunity): From June 6 to June 16.
· Second semester final exams: From May 18 to June 5.
· Second semester final exams (second opportunity):

- Option A: From July 1 to July 14.
- Option B: From September 1 to September 12.

Deadline for changes in final marks:

· Final exams third opportunity (December): December 18
· First semester final exams: February 11
· First semester final exams (second opportunity): June 29
· Second semester final exams (semester and whole year courses):

- Option A: June 12 (it only applies to the Schools which have Second semester final exams, with a July second opportunity)
- Option B: June 29

· Second semester final exams (second opportunity):

- Option A: July 20
- Option B: September 15

Holidays:

· From December 24 to January 7: Christmas
· From April 6 to April 13: Easter
· January 30: St. Tomás de Aquino
· School festivities will be set according to the decision of every school, on the previous or next Monday or Friday after the official festivity day. These festivity dates will be published on this website later on.

National Holidays:

· October 12: Columbus day
· November 1: All Saints day
· December 6: Day of Spanish Constitution
· December 8: Inmaculada Concepción day.
· The rest of public holidays will be set according to the Regional Government and its dates will be published on this website later on.
