Career Profile:

  • 1993 Graduated with honors in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Valencia
  •  1993-1996 PhD Research Studentship in Chemical Engineering at University of Valencia. This research involved the development of supervisory control systems for the biological stage of domestic wastewater treatment processes.
  • 1997 PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Valencia
  • 1997-2000 Post doctoral at University of Castilla La Mancha. Some trainings in EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland (Prof. Comninellis)
  • 2000- Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at University of Castilla La Mancha

Institution and Society Memberships:

  • Member of the Asociación Nacional de Químicos Españoles (ANQUE)
  • Member of the Real Sociedad Española de Química (RSEQ). Grupo de Electroquímica
  • Member of the Asociación Castellano Manchega de Ingenieros Químicos (ACMIQ)
  • Member of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE).
  • Permanent Guess Member of the Working Party on Electrochemical Engineering of the European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE)

Research activities

Research interests encompass the areas of electrochemical engineering and include:

 

  • development of electrochemical processes for a cleaner environment

     - water and wastewater treatment (electro-oxidation, electrocoagulation, electrofenton)

    - electrochemical soil remediation

 

  • electrosynthesis of oxidants

    - peroxophosphates

    - ferrates

 

  • fuel cell technology

    - components of high temperature PEM fuel cells

    - mathematical modelling and simulation of  fuel cells
